I’m Henry Lam, an ADHD coach with a mission to help you unlock your potential and thrive with ADHD. My journey from struggling with undiagnosed ADHD, anxiety, depression, and C-PTSD to becoming a coach is both personal and deeply rooted in my passion for understanding human behavior.
My Story: From Struggles to Strengths
I was born in York, PA, to immigrant parents from China. Growing up, I displayed classic ADHD symptoms—my mind constantly wandered, and school was a chaotic challenge. Video games, movies, and TV shows were my escape from the undiagnosed C-PTSD I carried.
High school was a blur of feeling lost and alone, despite being the “smart but bored” kid. I tried therapy with over ten different professionals, but nothing clicked. At 22, I was finally diagnosed with ADHD combined type, and suddenly, my struggles made sense. This diagnosis was a turning point that fueled my passion for understanding life and human behavior.
My Journey: A Path to Purpose
Driven by my own experiences, I dove deep into the study of ADHD, psychology, and neuroscience. My business degree and diverse studies honed my analytical skills, helping me piece together a comprehensive understanding of ADHD. I realized I had a natural talent for helping others, and this led me to pursue coaching.
As an Asian American navigating life with ADHD, I bring a unique perspective to my coaching. My journey from the maze of accounting to ADHD coaching is both inspiring and entertaining. With humor and creativity, I’m on a mission to bridge the gap in understanding and support within my community.
